Simple Sauteed Green Beans

Updated: Feb 21

You might think that an easy recipe like this wouldn’t pack much of a punch, but you’d be pleasantly surprised. The combination of simple spice staples like onion, garlic, salt, and pepper elevates these garden-fresh green beans to a whole new level!

Simple Sauteed Green Beans

Do you reach peak “adulting” status when you have a favorite vegetable? I believe I must have because these sauteed green beans are hands down my absolute favorite. Seriously, I cook them probably two or three times a week in the summer and fall. As soon as I’ve picked a good handful or two from the garden, we are having them as a vegetable side with dinner. Simple and delicious!

What to Serve With Simple Sauteed Green Beans

Helpful Tips

  • Choose Fresh Beans: Select bright green beans that are firm and free from blemishes for the best flavor and texture.

  • A Quick Boil. The key to getting the beans tender on the inside and perfectly seared on the outside is to blanch them in boiling salted water so they cook rapidly through to their core before their exteriors have a chance to start softening.

  • Don't Overcook: Aim to keep the beans slightly crisp to retain their vibrant color and nutritional value.
