If the holidays around your house are anything like ours, it is pretty lowkey. It's typically just the four of us, and preparing a huge feast just doesn’t make sense. However, we still want the meal to be special. This meal is budget-friendly, kid-approved, and comes together easily.

Planning a holiday meal can be quite a challenge, whether you're organizing a grand celebration or opting for a more intimate gathering this year, there’s one thing that is sure to be a buzzkill, and that, my friends, is the budget. Rising grocery prices can add to our stress of hosting, making it feel overwhelming to create a festive feast. However, there's no need to worry! I've crafted a simple and enjoyable holiday meal plan that is perfect for you and five of your closest friends or family members. This meal is designed to minimize stress while maximizing your budget, allowing you to focus on what truly matters—spending quality time with your loved ones. With a little preparation and the right recipes, you can create a memorable dining experience that everyone will cherish.
How to Plan A Holiday Meal
Set a Budget. Determine how much you’re willing to spend and stick to it.
Consider the Entrée. In the United States, turkey is arguably the most popular entrée on holiday tables. However, ham, roast beef, or chicken can shine as well.
Honor Memories. Develop a menu that reflects your family's traditions and preferences.
Blend Traditions. Initiate new traditions and explore unique recipes with your family to establish your own cherished customs.

Keep it Simple. Serve budget-friendly recipes that don’t break the bank. Use ingredients that you have on hand to help keep costs down.
Prep Ahead of Time. Preparing dishes a day or two in advance will allow you time to visit with your guests.
Host a Potluck. Who says you have to prepare the whole meal by yourself? Ask your guests to bring a dish to share. This list makes it easy for suggestions.

How to Make a Holiday Table Festive
Forage. Use branches, acorns, pinecones, and dried leaves to create simple décor.
Use What You Have. Use a neutral-colored bedsheet as a tablecloth or table runner. Use fabric scraps or old clothing to create a banner.
Simplify. Write guests' names on large leaves, smooth river stones, or mini pumpkins with a paint pen or metallic marker
