Helpful Tips For Making Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Bacon and Balsamic Glaze
Choose Fresh Brussels Sprouts: Look for sprouts that are firm and bright green, as they'll provide the best flavor and texture.
No Frozen Brussels Sprouts. I do not recommend using frozen Brussels sprouts for this dish, because they won’t get that roasted crispiness that you’ll get with fresh.
Watch the Bacon: Keep an eye on the bacon as it cooks to avoid burning. You want it crispy, not charred.

Ingredients
1 ½ pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
6 slices of thick-cut Hickory bacon, diced
1 medium onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon dried lemon thyme
¼ cup Homemade Balsamic Glaze
Directions
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged leaves. Cut them in half for even roasting.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Once cooked, remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and place it on a paper towel to drain.
Add sliced onion to hot skillet with residual bacon grease. Sauté for approximately 3-5 minutes or until the slices become translucent and golden. Add 3 cloves minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper until they're evenly coated. This will help them roast evenly and develop a nice, caramelized exterior.
Place the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for approximately 18-20 minutes, or until they're golden brown and tender. Stir halfway through to ensure even roasting.
Remove baking sheet from the oven and add bacon, onion mixture, and garlic mixture. Add 1 teaspoon dried lemon thyme. Give a quick stir to incorporate everything together. Drizzle the prepared balsamic glaze over the mixture. Return the baking sheet back to the oven for another 3-5 minutes.
Once the Brussels sprouts are done roasting, remove them from the oven and transfer them to a serving dish.
How to Store Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Balsamic Glaze
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
